Miami Heat teammates Goran Dragic and Derrick Jones Jr. were full participants in Wednesday morning's practice session, according to an official report from the team. Both have been out of commission due to knee injuries, but it sounds like they're nearing a return:

Dragic underwent surgery in December to clean up a nagging right knee injury. The Slovenian-born star was expected to be out until sometime around now (after the All-Star break). The fact that he was on the practice court with his teammates is certainly a good sign.

Without a doubt, the Heat could use Dragic's services. In his 14 appearances this season, the 32-year-old guard has posted averages of 15.3 points on 41.3 percent shooting from the field (31.4 percent from beyond the arc), 4.9 assists and 3.1 rebounds in 29.1 minutes per outing.

Jones is a player the Heat are high on. However, he took a scary fall during a game back in January, which resulted in a pair of bone bruises in his right knee. The 22-year-old forward was originally slated to miss six weeks of action before re-evaluation, so it seems he might be slightly ahead of schedule.

In 37 games played with the Heat this season (five starts), Jones has racked up averages of 7.4 points on 51.2 percent shooting from the field (36.5 percent from downtown) and 4.4 rebounds in 18.1 minutes per contest.

The Heat (26-30 and second in the Southeast Division standings) will be back in action on Thursday, when they'll face the Sixers inside the Wells Fargo Center at 7:00 p.m. ET.
