Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler just secured a bag. The veteran has signed a massive four-year, $184 million extension with the Heat, which keeps him with under contract through the 2025-2026 season, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski:
All-Star G Jimmy Butler has signed a four-year, $184M extension to stay with the Miami Heat, his agent Bernie Lee tells ESPN. Butler will be locked into the deal — with a player option — through 2025-2026.

Butler has been a cornerstone of the Heat franchise, helping them make a miraculous run to the NBA Finals in 2020 where they ultimately lost to the Los Angeles Lakers. It is important to note though that Butler does have a $37.6 million player option in 2022-23.
Miami has done a fantastic job adding more pieces around the former Marquette standout, signing Kyle Lowry, and bringing back Victor Oladipo. The Heat also brought in Markieff Morris and P.J. Tucker, who is fresh off an NBA title with the Milwaukee Bucks where he played a key part defensively.
Article Continues Below2021 was a terrific year for Butler despite the Heat losing in the first round of the playoffs, averaging 21.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game. He also made the All-Defensive Team for the fifth time.
With this deal, the Heat make sure their franchise piece is around for the long run. Adding Lowry to the fold, who is a close friend of Butler, is definitely the best addition of them all because of his abilities on both ends of the floor and extensive playoff resume.
Butler will be hoping he can bring a title to South Beach in the next few years with a strengthened roster.
