With all the news surrounding the likely return of Dwyane Wade to the Miami Heat, people often forget about the original Heat-lifer, Udonis Haslem.

As he recently signed his contract, the Miami native will be one of the most tenured players in the league at 38-years-old. Amazingly, Haslem will be entering his 16th season with the Miami Heat, the only team he has played for. It seems like he is going to play forever.

Sports writer Tim Reynolds sent a tweet out regarding Udonis Haslem’s career.

It captioned

Spoke with Udonis Haslem a few minutes ago. When he retires, let it be known that he wants a statue. “If people knew where I came from, the things that I've been through, a statue would be perfect _ because I'm as solid as that statue that will be out there.”

It may be jokingly said, but Haslem has proven to be as solid as they come in the NBA. Not only due to sticking to one team, but for his hard work and contributions to the Miami Heat organization when they most need it from him.

The three-time NBA champ may not be as great as the other players who have statues outside arenas, but if just being solid would be the criteria; Haslem would surely deserve more than one statue out there.

If Wade comes back for one final run, they will be the only players left in the organization to be part of each championship team.

The legendary Heat big man has a career average of 7.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
