Article Continues BelowFor Steve Clifford, he is a lifelong NBA coach who has dedicated his life to the craft. He has never been married, but instead gives everything he has to the game of basketball. He was an assistant coach for the Orlando Magic, New York Knicks, Houston Rockets, and Los Angeles Lakers for 13 years before getting the Hornets job in 2013.
As the man in charge of the Hornets, he never was terrible, but his teams never lived up to the expectations that come with having a star player like Kemba Walker. He made the playoffs in two of the five seasons but was never able to win a playoff series. His best season was in 2015-16 when the Hornets went 48-34 and ended up with the six seed. They forced the Miami Heat to go seven games but couldn't win and were bounced in the first round.
The last two season they have finished with a 36-46 record and missed the playoffs in both seasons. The Hornets decided to go in a different way this offseason, but Clifford is certainly a coach with potential.
