Nobody was really sure what to expect from the Milwaukee Bucks coming into this season. Were they going to be a top-four seed in the Eastern Conference? Were they going to be a low playoff seed like last year?
What they have done is what no one anticipated. Not even the most diehard Bucks fan.
On Wednesday night, Milwaukee became the first team in the NBA to win 40 games during the 2018-19 campaign, defeating the Washington Wizards by a score of 148-129:
The offense continued.
Giannis: 43 points on 17/21 shooting, 3/3 from three
Bucks: 148 points on 60% shooting, both season highs.

Let's not look past the fact that Giannis Antetokounmpo went 3-of-3 from three-point range on the night. Small sample size, sure, but if Antetokounmpo is able to become even respectable from beyond the arc? My goodness. I feel sorry for the rest of the league.
Article Continues BelowThe Bucks now own a record of 40-13 and have won five games in a row while winning 11 of their last 12 overall. Milwaukee's only loss during that span came to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Jan. 27.
What a season it has been for the Bucks, who have not won a playoff series since 2001 when they made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals before losing to the Allen Iverson-led Philadelphia 76ers.
Since then, Milwaukee has made eight postseason appearances, most recently making it to the playoffs as a 7-seed last year before being knocked out by a short-handed Boston Celtics team in a tight seven-game series.
However, barring injuries or an incredible upset in the first round, it looks like the Bucks are finally going to make it to the second round of the playoffs this May.
