For the Eastern Conference, Giannis Antetokounmpo took home the honors. The Bucks point-forwardwas a pretty obvious choice after averaging 30.6 points and 12.6 rebounds in nine games. He also averaged 6.0 assists and 1.6 blocks, while shooting a ridiculous 62.1 percent from the field and (40.0 percent from three).
In the month, Milwaukee went 10-1. The only loss they suffered was in a game against the Orlando Magic when Antetokounmpo didn't play.
Antetokounmpo has been fantastic all season long, but February may have been his best month. It saw season highs in points per game, as well as shooting and 3-point percentages. He also had his second best month in both assists and rebounds.
On the flip side, Paul George won the award for February for the Western Conference.
Like Antetokoumpo, George has been fantastic all season long. February was easily his best month though, as it took him from MVP-longshot to legitimate MVP-contender.
Article Continues BelowGeorge averaged 35.0 points and 8.4 rebounds in 10 games in February. He also managed 5.4 assists and 2.1 steals in that time. The Thunder went 6-5 (0-1 without George) during the month.
Both Antetokounmpo and George are right near the top of the shortlist for MVP candidates this season. Both definitely helped their respective cases with absolutely incredible months of February, and they were rewarded with the NBA POTM honors.
Antetokounmpo's team had an overall better month, but it was George that really rose his stock the most in February.
So far, Antetokounmpo is in the lead with three POTM honors this season. James Harden is the only other player with multiple wins (2). Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris and Paul George each have one.
There's only one more full month of the season, which means there's only one more chance to win the monthly accolade this year.
