NBA Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady says Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose is “Sixth man of the Year, no question about it.”
Although Derrick Rose has started the last two games for the Timberwolves because of Jeff Teague's injury, Rose usually comes off the bench for Minnesota and has been a scoring machine.
On the season, Derrick Rose is averaging 19.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. The former MVP is shooting 49.3 percent from the field, 46.9 percent from beyond the arc and 83.9 percent from the free-throw line.
Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons, Rose finished with 33 points and seven assists. It was another spectacular performance from the 30-year-old, who is having his best season since the 2011-12 campaign.

As a starter, the Chicago native is averaging 26.3 points and 6.6 assists in eight starts. Rose has always been one of the best finishers around the rim, but it's his 3-point shot that has taken his game to the next level.
Rose entered this season shooting below 30.0 percent from beyond the 3-point line for his career. He's currently sixth in the NBA in 3-point percentage, shooting 46.9 percent. The hard work Rose put in during the offseason is paying off for the youngest MVP in NBA history.
