The Minnesota Timberwolves would like to shed point guard Jeff Teague's contract and are looking for a trade which will help them accomplish their goal, according to John Gambadoro of ArizonaSports.com.
Teague signed a three-year, $57 million deal with the Timberwolves in the summer of 2017. The 30-year-old will make $19 million this season and has a player option for the 2019-20 season worth $19 million.
The Phoenix Suns, who are actively looking to acquire a starting-caliber point guard, have no interest in Teague.
The Suns have not had any conversations with Minnesota about Jeff Teague.

Minnesota spreading rumors is likely – they don't want him. Would like to get off the contract. Suns have not talked to Twolves about him.

In his first season with the Timberwolves, Jeff Teague averaged 14.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game in the regular season. The nine-year veteran shot 44.6 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from beyond the arc, and 84.5 percent from the free-throw line.
Teague's numbers dipped in the 2018 playoffs. In the five-game series versus the Houston Rockets, Teague posted 13.0 points and 5.8 assists per game. He was outplayed by former MVP Derrick Rose, who averaged 14.2 points per game while shooting an efficient 50.9 percent from the field and 70 percent from 3.
The Timberwolves are in the process of trying to trade All-Star small forward Jimmy Butler. Butler prefers to play for the Miami Heat. Miami and Minnesota could agree upon a deal centered around Butler and Goran Dragic, which would make Teague expendable.
