As fully expected, the Boston Celtics faithful welcomed Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving back to the TD Garden in the only way they know: with boos.

Ahead of tip-off on Friday night, the Celtics fans saw Irving come out of the tunnel to warm up and quickly went to work:

Irving was loving it. You could even see him raise his hands like ā€œGive me moreā€. The Celtics meanwhile, will be looking to somehow scratch out a game against the star-studded Nets. They're currently in a 2-0 hole after back-to-back losses on the road.

Celtics fans have all the reason to have their problems with Kyrie right now. He publically said earlier in the week that he hopes to not hear any racist remarks at the TD Garden, insinuating that it was a common occurrence when he played in Boston. That alone would piss off the supporters.

Irving also voiced he would re-sign with the Celtics, but instead joined forces with Kevin Durant in the summer of 2019, which left a bad taste in Boston's mouth.

Through two seasons with the Celtics, Kyrie struggled with injury problems, with the team making a Conference final and semifinal during his time in Beantown.

There's no love lost between Irving and the city. It's very clear.
