Three-time Finals MVP and four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal tried his hand at a different sport on Wednesday by wrestling in a tag-team match for All-Elite Wrestling (AEW) Dynamite.
Shaq ended up getting clobbered and fell through two tables as he and his partner Jade Cargill defeated Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet.

Of course, Shaq’s former teammate Dwyane Wade couldn’t help but make fun of The Big Diesel. Wade posted on Twitter, comparing Shaq getting knocked out to watching the 15-time All-Star asleep with an astronaut-style helmet. As you can see, the (likely staged) video shows Shaq snoozing peacefully in some kind of break room while D-Wade chortles at the hulking big man’s choice of attire, as well as the similarity to him getting conked out on the AEW showcase.

Despite getting knocked out, Shaq and Cargill won the match. This begs the question: Will Shaq have the energy to be a full-time wrestler while also being a full-time NBA pundit for TNT?
Shaquille O'Neal has always been a multi-tasker as his hip-hop and acting careers were simultaneous with his staggering early NBA career with the Orlando Magic and the Los Angeles Lakers. So it seems reasonable to think he will be a longtime fixture on the AEW circuit going forward. After all, he has the charisma and the character to be a wrestling star.
Still, he better be careful or his Dwyane Wade will continue to clown him at every opportunity—something that Candace Parker also knows something about in a more meaningful way.
