Formula 1's governing body is cracking down on jewelry on race day – and Lewis Hamilton is not happy about.

Then rule enforcement disallows jewelry and body piercings from being worn during F1 races, a decision that is said to be meant for safety reasons.

Hamilton, who has several body piercings and isn't afraid to flex his jewelry pieces, made sure to make a statement during the press conference for the inaugural Formula 1 race in Miami. He showed up completely iced out ahead of the looming ban.

Lewis Hamilton spoke out against the F1 regulations set to be imposed.

Via ESPN:

“I feel like it’s almost like a step backwards, if you think about the steps we are taking as a sport, and the more important issues and causes that we need to be focused on,” said Formula 1's biggest star.

“This is such a small thing. I’ve been in the sport for 16 years and I’ve been wearing jewelry for 16 years. In the car, I only ever have my earrings on and my nose ring, which I can’t even remove. It seems unnecessary for us to get into this spat.”

Lewis Hamilton will have a two-week reprieve from being penalized from the said ban given that a handful of his body piercings aren't easily removed. But it's clear that he's not in approval of this latest move by the Formula 1's governing body.
