In Thursday night's 2021 All-Star Game Draft for Team LeBron and Team Durant, LeBron James picked Giannis Antetokounmpo as his first overall pick. This Sunday will be the first time the two have played together since the 2017 All-Star Game, which was before the format changed.
The pairing of the two sparks up massive conversations heading into the All-Star break. Imagining these two on the same NBA roster is one of the most intriguing things in the NBA. Both LeBron and Giannis are two of the most versatile players in the NBA and athletic freaks. They can play inside and out while also acting as playmakers for their roster. Although Giannis continues to struggle a bit from the perimeter, he has shown to make defenders pay on occasion when giving him space to shoot.
As diligent of a leader LeBron James has pertained to be, his presence would allow Giannis Antetokounmpo to improve broken areas in his game. This would be a ridiculous team to watch.

But the important factor is Giannis Antetokounmpo being able to switch from the small forward position to center. For their team to be successful, the team’s general manager must surround the team with key shooters who can also be excellent on the defensive end. A LeBron-Giannis team should always excel in versatility on the floor. As the rest of the team can impact the floor, it would be nearly impossible to contain the team.
A big factor for both LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo would be sacrifice. Which player would lead the way in scoring and who would have the ball in their hands during crunch time? Through the first three quarters of the game, Giannis could be the dominant player for the team. The reason is because of the energy he brings on the floor. Giannis’ high energy would keep the team afloat heading into the fourth quarter. In crunch time, though, the basketball would almost always be in LeBron’s hands to send the game away. He has been in clutch situations many times throughout his career, so it's only right to allow him to provide the late-game heroics, especially given Giannis' flaws on the perimeter and how teams defend him in the clutch.
The outcome of the team
As a LeBron-Giannis team gained chemistry on and off the floor, they would become unbeatable. This superteam would win multiple championships with the two players leading the way. A to winning would be great coaching and role players to surround the two stars for success. As Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James are multiple MVP winners, they would both show the ability to come together and dominate the NBA.
