Former NBA player Jeff Adrien made a big career move this summer, signing for Bnei Herzliya to play in the Israeli Premier League after spending years as a journeyman in the NBA.

However, Adrien made a few questionable decisions in his personal life in the last year apparently. According to TMZ, the 30-year-old former Charlotte Bobcats, Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves player stole a Mercedes from a West Hollywood valet stand in December and took it for a joyride.

The car’s owner has told the celebrity website that Adrien damaged the car, eventually being charged with felony grand theft auto.

The athlete himself described the incident as a “big understanding.” He pleaded no contest with misdemeanour unauthorized use of a vehicle and will have to complete twenty-five days of community labor.

This isn’t Adrien’s first run in with the law. As reported earlier this year, he was previously arrested three times in two months.

Jeff Adrien and his team will hope that he leaves these troubles behind him in the states and finds a way to start a new chapter in Israel, both professionally and personally.
