With the retirement of a legend comes an outpouring of support and wonderment from their coworkers. This is exactly the case with former San Antonio Spurs legend Manu Ginobili, who has announced that last season was his final season in the NBA.
We have already seen Ginobili's teammates show him love on the day of his announcement, voicing nothing but respect and love for their former teammate.
New York Knicks forward/center Kristaps Porzingis is the latest to pay his respects to Ginobili and the amazing career he produced.
Congrats on an amazing career @manuginobili! Won everything on every level! Unbelievable 🙌🏼🙌🏼 #legend

Porzingis is coming off a tough season where he missed almost half of the Knicks games after showing significant improvement in the few games he played.

In 48 games, the Unicorn averaged 22.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, and a ridiculous 2.4 blocks per game, all on 44 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent from behind the arc.
These numbers are certainly impressive, in particular the three-point percentage for a man that measures in at 7'3. Knicks fans can't wait to see a full season of Kristaps Porzingis, paired with their new draft pick, intriguing swingman Kevin Knox who showed flashes of brilliance in Summer League.
Porzingis and Ginobili have some similarities, as they are both foreign-born players that played ball overseas and represented their national team as the leader of their respective teams.
Obviously, Porzingis' career is just starting while Ginobili's has come to an end. If Porzingis can have a career that's as successful as Ginobili's, he would certainly be pleased with himself.
