With the basketball fast approaching, the Knicks are beginning to get ready for their upcoming mini-camp and training camp prior to the start of the regular season. While Delaney is likely a long shot to make the official roster, his inclusion does give him a chance to compete with NBA talent and see where he stacks up.
Article Continues BelowDelaney began his professional career in 2011, going undrafted before signing with French team Elan Chalon. From there, he spent most of his career overseas, before signing a two-year, $5 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks in 2016. In 2018, Delaney left the NBA once again, signing with the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association.
According to recent reports, it seems as if FC Barcelona is also looking into possible offering Delaney a contract, as they are in need of a point guard. With Delaney currently getting ready to train with the Knicks, though, it’s unlikely he accepts an offer right away.
As the Knicks prepare to try and make a playoff run after retooling their roster during the offseason, Delaney could be a solid pick up if they need some depth in the guard department. If not, he’ll thankfully have some other options when it comes to continue playing, should he choose.
