After Kawhi Leonard made the somewhat surprising decision to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers during the offseason, it opened up the NBA in a way it hasn’t been previously. With a full season of what looks to be some of the most parity-filled basketball the sport has ever seen, Lakers star Anthony Davis thinks any number of teams could win it all.

Speaking to the media, Davis noted that the NBA is “wide open,” and that any team has the chance to win it all. Of course, not every team is going to be contending for an NBA title, but the league does seem to be more wide open than usual. With the Golden State Warriors battling injuries and now without Kevin Durant, there seems to be a chance for five or more teams to contend for a title.

For Davis, his goal will be to help lead the Lakers back into the playoffs and to their next championship. With Davis and LeBron James as the foundation of the Lakers, the team expects to be within range to bring another title to its fans. After missing out on Leonard, the Lakers made up for it by signing a variety of veterans to the team, adding some much-needed shooting and depth to their roster.

However, with the likes of the Clippers, Bucks, Nuggets, Sixers, and more all vying for an NBA title, it’s anyone's guess as to who will walk away as champions next year. While the Lakers and Clippers are likely some of the favorite to win, we’ve seen just this year that being the favorite doesn’t always mean much.
