In a surprising turn of events, the head coach of Chino Hills High School, Stephan Gilling, has been fired from his position despite leading his team to a 30-3 season.
The young head coach confirmed the development, via ESPN's Jeff Goodman, and even said he is relieved about it. He then gave a shoutout to his former players and wished them all well.

The school made a lot of headlines this past year having two of LaVar Ball‘s sons, LaMelo and LiAngelo, playing for their basketball team. Despite the belief of many that the older Ball was the reason for having Gilling fired, the former denied it and said the head coaching job is made available every year by the school as part of their protocol
“He's a really good guy, but I'm just not sure he was experienced enough. But I wasn't the reason why he's gone. It was protocol that the job is open every year.”
Chino Hills athletic director Jeff Schuld has yet to issue a formal statement on the release of Gilling, but is expected to make one soon. His announcement will definitely clarify a lot of things, and may potentially clear LaVar Ball of any involvement, if his comments were indeed truthful.
