Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has been immensely active in terms of enhancing civic engagement with his More Than A Vote campaign.

With Election Day on Tuesday, James is once again encouraging citizens to get out and vote.

LeBron quote-tweeted Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris' message to the American populace, in which Harris alluded to future generations looking back on this election as a seminal moment in U.S. history.

The Lakers star is hardly alone in his activism, as athletes from all of the major sports have been engaged in campaigns to increase voter participation. Others have even encouraged citizens at physical polling locations.

However, most would be hard-pressed to make the kind of push and utilize the resources LeBron James has at his disposal.

James' group had more than 10,000 poll workers sign up back in October. He also joined billionaire and former presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg in working to get felons in Florida the right to vote after a Florida court initially ruled convicted felons needed to pay a stipend to exercise their right.

Of course, James and other players around the NBA wanted to convey the message that the 2019-20 NBA season and NBA restart was about more than basketball. The Lakers forward also said on a special episode of “The Shop” with former President Barack Obama the players were very close to leaving the restart after Jacob Blake was shot in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

LeBron James has established himself as a generational talent on the floor, but he has worked just as hard to expand his influence and use his voice off the hardwood.
