Free-agent Carmelo Anthony claimed in an interview with Stephen A. Smith on ESPN's ‘First Take' that there was once a possibility for him to team up with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, but the trio banding up never materialized.
Smith claimed that one of Anthony's worst choices in his career was signing a five year deal with the Denver Nuggets. Smith argued that instead, Anthony should've constructed a deal that made him a free agent at the same time LeBron was so that the two could've teamed up. Anthony explained why the legendary players never landed on a team together:

Looking back in time, Anthony definitely would've made different decisions. A shorter deal with Denver would've meant more money in the long term, as well as the chance to form a super team and cement his legacy.
Even after a long and storied career, Anthony is still without a championship ring. No team has picked him up yet, and he's running out of time to get it. That decision will weigh on his mind more than ever if his career ends without at least one more shot at raising the Larry O'Brien trophy.
