Former NBA star Lamar Odom visited the grave of the deceased religious leader Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson. Odom shared a photo of himself posed next to the commemoration in Queens of the Chabad movement leader's life:

The influential Jewish thought leader, known widely as the Lubavitcher Rebbe, passed away 25 years ago. In Odom's social media post, he mentions the Rebbe was a mentor to speaking coach Rosh Lowe.

Odom donned a yarmulke while seemingly closing his eyes in prayer next to the grave site of the late Orthodox Judaism pioneer. He received a number of comments from ex-NBA players like Caron Butler, Quentin Richardson, and Amar'e Stoudemire, the latter of whom practices Judaism and notably reconnected with Jewish roots and is trying to mount an NBA comeback.

Odom was playing in the BIG3 until he was “deactivated” by the league for competitive reasons along with Baron Davis, Bonzi Wells, and Jermaine O'Neal.

Odom is a two-time NBA champion and former Sixth Man of the Year, playing 14 seasons in The Association and averaging 13.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.

At the closing of his NBA career, Odom struggled with substance abuse and fell into a coma in 2015 after being discovered unconscious and suffering kidney failure and heart attacks. Odom has since recovered from his near-death experience.

Odom is among 400,000 yearly visitors of Schneerson's gravesite.

This visit clearly had a major impact on Lamar Odom, and it's good to see him in a better place.
