With efforts being made by the NBA to further increase the popularity of the game of basketball, they have continued to host training camps around the world. That includes Africa, where some players hailing from the continent have already made it to the league.

Back in May, a slam dunk competition was held in the NBA Academy Africa, which showcased the skills of their young players. One of them who participated is 15-year-old Efe Abogidi, who shocked many when he completed a dunk from beyond the free-throw line. It was posted recently by the NBA in their official Instagram account and currently has more than 1.2 million views.

Abogidi is a 6-foot-10 prospect from Senegal, who has already shown incredible leaping ability and athleticism even at a young age. His dunk was so impressive that when watched in slow motion, his feet didn’t even touch the line, and clearly jumped well beyond it.

If Abogidi can further improve his game, and not just his ability to dunk, he may follow the footsteps of some African players who’ve had successful careers in the NBA. For now, he can enjoy the attention he’s receiving from the impressive dunk, and will have a chance to defend his title in next year’s contest in the academy.
