Most NBA pundits believe Las Vegas is the best city to resume the 2019-20 season in.
However, per Marc Berman of The New York Post, there has also been internal talks in the NBA about Orlando, Atlantic City, Hawaii and Louisville hosting the 2020 playoffs:
The obvious destination for a one-site event is UNLV in Las Vegas, which has hosted recent summer leagues with all 30 clubs. Hotels are plentiful. One destination reportedly discussed was the Bahamas. According to an NBA source, there’s also been internal talks about Orlando, Atlantic City, Hawaii and Louisville hosting the playoffs.
Las Vegas’ centralized hotels can keep all teams under one roof and gym. NBA owners are determined to at least play the 2020 postseason in full.
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19 first. He was followed by Jazz star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell, Detroit Pistons big man Christian Wood, Brooklyn Nets superstar small forward Kevin Durant and Boston Celtics defensive ace Marcus Smart.
The NBA will only resume play if the coronavirus dies down. Before the 2019-20 season was suspended, the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers had the best records in the NBA, with the Bucks in first place.
Houston Rockets star James Harden was leading the NBA in scoring, Lakers superstar LeBron James was first in assists and Cleveland Cavaliers center Andre Drummond was atop the rebounding list.
