Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green thinks he's the greatest defender of all time. This is a rather contentious statement that did not exactly sit well with retired six-time All-Defensive swingman Tony Allen.

The pair had a bit of a back and forth on Twitter over the GOAT defender debate, but surprisingly, the mini-beef ended with Allen showering Dray with a ton of praise.

For starters, here was Allen's unfiltered reaction to Green's earlier statement:

The Warriors star caught wind of Allen's slander and decided to fire back with a haymaker of his own:

In a rather surprising turn of events, Tony Allen then backed down from the spat by saying how much respect he has for Green:

Allen was one of the best defenders in the NBA during his time. When it comes to the matter of defense, he's certainly an authority. He's also a heads-up fellow, too. The former Memphis Grizzlies stud may have been critical of Draymond's self-proclaimed GOAT status, but Allen also made sure to give credit where it is due.

Like him or not, there's no denying that Draymond Green is indeed an all-time great defender. He's won the Defensive Player of the Year once in his career, and he was recently shortlisted for this year's title. However, it's another matter to say that he is the very best defender in the history of the NBA. Even the most faithful Warriors fans will probably think twice about this statement.
