Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson thinks the team is handling all the speculation surrounding Kevin Durant and his summer free agency the right way.
Durant can become an unrestricted free agent this summer if he declines his 2019-20 player option with the Golden State, and there have been countless rumors stating that the two-time Finals MVP might leave the Warriors for the New York Knicks.
Thompson, who will also become a free agent in the summer, says the team is doing a good job of controlling what they can control and not listening to all the outside noise.
Article Continues Below“We’re handling it great,” Thompson said, via Mark Medina of the Bay Area News Group. “You can only control what you can control. You can’t listen to media coverage or speculation. There always will be speculation with anything you do. It’s what we signed up for.”

Whenever a star player like Kevin Durant enters the open market, there's always going to be reports swirling about his future during the regular season. At the end of the day, though, no one but Durant knows what he's going to do. The Warriors are trying to win their third straight title this season and don't have time to pay attention to what the media is saying.
