The New Orleans Pelicans have been in tons of headlines since superstar Anthony Davis publicly requested a trade about a month ago. Everybody paid close attention to the Pelicans' situation, especially since the Los Angeles Lakers were the main team to engage them in trade discussions.
But the trade deadline has passed and Davis is still with New Orleans. Although the All-Star big man has publicly stated that he wants to play the rest of the season out, the Pelicans would prefer to shut him down, a decision not allowed by the NBA. New Orleans decided to play AD for a couple of games before he suffered a minor shoulder injury before the All-Star break.
Now that the regular season is set to resume, Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry is unsure about what will happen between the team and AD's camp. He considers this whole situation as something that he hasn't encountered throughout his coaching career:

Gentry: In my life

Gentry has had to deal with a ton of questions about Davis' situation, and he quickly became sick of all those questions.
There are still two months before the season ends. The Pelicans are not going to make the playoffs, so they can shift their focus to this summer, when more teams are expected to negotiate a trade for Davis.
For now, New Orleans is getting by this awkward situation on a day-to-day basis. Anthony Davis will play against the Indiana Pacers on Friday.
