The New Orleans Pelicans' Anthony Davis will play against the Utah Jazz.

This comes after an earlier report stated that Davis won't suit up for the Pelicans.

This would have been the second consecutive game that Davis will miss, as he also sat out the team's 120-112 win against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.

After publicly requesting a trade from the Pelicans, it was clear that Davis is no longer going to be a part of New Orleans' future. The All-Star forward has stated that he has no plans of re-signing with the team once his contract ends in 2020.

The Pelicans seem to have retaliated by not trading Davis to his reportedly preferred destination, the Los Angeles Lakers. Instead, they decided not to do anything during the trade deadline.

After that, the team's front office planned to shut Davis down for the remainder of the season, but the league office did not allow them to do so. Instead, they were told to play AD at least 25 minutes a game, a decision that the Pels treated with sarcasm.

The Pelicans indeed allowed Davis to play, but when he's able to log in 25 minutes, they automatically take him out, regardless if the team is winning or not.

And for some reason, the Pelicans are looking better. They are 7-5 since the trade deadline, and although they are not going to make the playoffs, they seem to be playing better without Davis.

What a weird situation in New Orleans.
