Rookie Zion Williamson is plenty happy with his landing spot with the New Orleans Pelicans, knowing they're doing everything in their power to streamline his workout regimen and put him in the best position to have an outstanding first season in the league. The Pels will be young, spry, and fast — allowing Williamson to make his damage in the fast break and terrorize opponents with his strength and athleticism.

The Pelicans keep up the pace constantly, just the way I like it,” Williamson told La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sportando). “I am already working with members of the technical staff and the idea of running is emphasized in each exercise. I’m sure that our offensive schemes will allow me to be lethal from the next season.”
The Pelicans have also ensured the roster won't be only comprised of young faces, but also solid veteran leadership — starting with two-way stud Jrue Holiday and the newly-acquired J.J. Redick.
“It is essential to have veterans on whom to rely, not only on the floor but also in the locker room,” said Williamson. “They will be the mentors for the youngest, we will need their advice and their experience. But I am also very impressed by the talent of the youngest. I think we can compete for a championship. Yes, I am convinced that this team can have the NBA title as a goal. I know the complexity of the West. But I see it this way, I’d be lying if I said something different.”
Williamson has been consistently optimistic about his team's chances to notch the title, noting that while the process is long, he will always strive for excellence. Even if it isn't feasible right away, the Pelicans seem to have implemented the right system to make that dream a possibility.
