In the wake of Phil Jackson‘s firing from the top of the front office, the New York Knicks are still more than willing to cut ties with star forward Carmelo Anthony — but not without getting something back in return.

The 6-foot-8 forward has $54.1 million left in his contract over his next two seasons, a hefty price to pay for the Knicks to start again. The Syracuse star has expressed his preference of staying put, but previously mentioned he'd consider going to a contending team.

All trades would ultimately go through Anthony, who is one of three players in the league to hold a no-trade clause — making him the absolute deciding factor and making a possible transaction that much more of an impediment for the organization.
