After years of speculation, Kemba Walker is finally a New York Knick. The former All-Star guard is now hoping resuscitate his dimming star in the Big Apple. But with Derrick Rose already the incumbent star guard with the Knicks, could things get frosty between the two?

Based on Kemba Walker's recent words on Derrick Rose, that doesn't seem likely to happen. The Knicks addition spoke out on his new teammate, revealing that he not only admires Rose, but that he's also a true fan of his as well.

Via Steve Serby of the New York Post:

“I love D-Rose,” said Walker of his new Knicks teammate. “I have always been a huge D-Rose fan, man. Just the way he carries himself, he just seemed like such a great dude. Young MVP, got hurt, so many people just talked so bad about him, but he just kept fighting, he kept fighting. Look at him now, he’s right back, and he’s been around for a long time now.”

Of course, it's easy to say that now with the Knicks in the middle of the offseason. There's no squabbling over minutes, shot attempts, or starting spots just yet. But Walker is optimistic he can cultivate an amicable relationship with Derrick Rose, particularly in terms of recovering from a knee injury of his own. Nobody knows that struggle better than D-Rose.

“He’s had his situation with his knee, but you can tell how much work he’s put in. And I feel like me going through a situation with my knee and yada yada, he’s a guy who I can look to and ask questions, and pick his brain.”

The organization hopes that both Kemba Walker and Derrick Rose can use their similarities to bring out the best in one another. New York Knicks fans certainly don't want to have to play favorites.
