The New York Knicks took on the Indiana Pacers in a Game Two showdown Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks and Pacers are famous for Reggie Miller's late game heroics that ended with him making a choking hands gesture toward Lee while the Pacers took control late in the game.
Miller is now a broadcaster but Lee has remained in his role as New York Knicks superfan extraordinaire on the sidelines of NY basketball games.
On Wednesday, Lee showed up with a hilarious surprise that Miller was not ready for at the Garden for Game Two. It all happened during a Mitchell Robinson injury scare that limited the Knicks' frontcourt plan going forward. Robinson shared a ‘brutal NSFW reaction' to his injury situation amid the Knicks' quest for Eastern Conference supremacy.
It all climaxed in a surprising gesture by filmmaking legend Spike Lee as he brought something surprising to the Knicks for Game Two vs. the Pacers in the Big Apple.
Spike Lee's Surprise for Reggie Miller
Lee showed up with a plaque commemorating Miller's amazing 1990s era performance at the Garden. Miller's legendary performance was known as the ‘eight points in nine seconds' game, and it included Miller making a choking gesture toward Lee and the Knicks' sideline as part of a seminary performance that cemented Reggie as one of the consummate ‘Bad Boys' of an entire NBA generation.
Lee's full name is Shelton Jackson Lee. He has been a Knicks superfan for decades, first purchasing season tickets to the Knicks' games way back in 1985.

Fans React to Lee's Surprising Gesture

Fans reacted to the movie director's gesture in a variety of ways on X.
“Boo this man,” one fan said in response to the picture post.

“Good times, brings back old memories,” another fan added.
The Knicks trailed the Pacers by nine points early in the third quarter as they attempted to take a 2-0 lead with Lee courtside. The Knicks have been led by the three-guard bomb squad of Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo this season. Brunson had 43 points in Game One while DiVincenzo hit clutch shots down the stretch against a bigger and perhaps more athletic Indiana Pacers frontcourt.
Isaiah Hartenstein's half-court shot was among the big plays that made the Knicks fans jump out of their seats at Madison Square Garden on May 6, a game that was tainted by an alleged bad call on a kicked ball according many Pacers fans.
Brunson eventually left Game Two with a concerning foot injury that was given an update around the time of the third quarter's action on Wednesday night.
