There are some members of the New York Knicks who are reportedly high on Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker, who becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer for the first time in his career, according to Ian Begley of SNY.

The Knicks have cap space to sign two max contract players this summer. They have been heavily linked to Boston Celtics star guard Kyrie Irving and Golden State Warriors superstar forward Kevin Durant.

It's also worth noting here that some in the Knicks organization are high on fellow free agent point guard Kemba Walker, sources say. But that probably doesn't matter if Durant tells the Knicks that he'll sign with them, and that he wants to play with Irving.

Walker has spent his entire NBA career with the Hornets, but many believe he's going to leave the franchise this summer. Walker has only made the playoffs twice since entering the league back in 2011. He was born and raised in The Bronx.

The Knicks acquired Dennis Smith Jr. from the Dallas Mavericks in the Kristaps Porzingis trade, but would slide him to the bench if they are able to sign Irving or Walker.

This season, Walker averaged 25.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game while shooting 43.4 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from beyond the arc and 84.4 percent from the free-throw line.
