The New York Knicks will get a pair of their wings back, as Tim Hardaway Jr. and Damyean Dotson will return for Wednesday tilt against the Philadelphia 76ers, according to Ian Begley of ESPN. Center Mitchell Robinson and shooting guard Allonzo Trier remain out with their respective injuries.
Trier will miss his sixth straight game with a left hamstring strain, as the Knicks have no incentive to rush their recent signing back with a 9-23 record. Trier had his two-way deal converted into a full-fledged, two-year, $7 million deal earlier this month after making the Knicks' roster straight out of training camp, having gone undrafted in June.
Robinson will miss his third game in a row on Wednesday with a left ankle sprain, while the 7-foot-1 Luke Kornet picks up most of his minutes backing up starter Enes Kanter.
New York has only won two of its last 11 games after a three-game surge had the team in high spirits.
Head coach David Fizdale has emphasized his focus on developing his young players, and it's had mixed results thus far, with the likes of Emmanuel Mudiay and Kevin Knox coming along in recent games.
The Knicks should be able to secure a few more wins with Hardaway, the team's leading scorer, back in the lineup; but don't be surprised if Fizdale shuffles the deck by season's end in favor of Dotson or Trier, who hold more upside.
