When the Golden State Warriors announced that Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are all available to play versus the Denver Nuggets on Saturday, it was expected to be a high-scoring affair, and that the home team will have their high-octane offense in full display once again.
However, that wasn't the case, as the Nuggets surprised them with their defense, which limited them to only 81 points on the night. It was the lowest scoring output they've had all season long, breaking the previous one they had, 88 points, versus the Boston Celtics on November 16th. They only shot 36.8 percent from the field, and uncharacteristically committed 17 turnovers as well, ultimately resulting to their seventh defeat of the year.
Worst night of the season for the Warriors offense by far: 81 points, 36.8 percent shooting, 3-of-27 from 3, 19 turnovers. Blown out at home by the Nuggets.

The loss also snapped their 11-game winning streak, and are now back to second place in the Western Conference, after briefly taking over the top spot from the Houston Rockets. While all three aforementioned stars finished in double-figures, they lacked support from their reserves, who did not have any player scoring more than five points.

The Warriors will look to get back to their winning ways on Monday when they face off against the Cleveland Cavaliers, in one of the marquee matchups on Christmas day. It is expected to be a hotly contested game between the finalists from the past three years, with the winner having the opportunity to send a strong message to their opponents.
