Rudy Gay has been on the Oklahoma City Thunder's radar, seemingly since the departure of Kevin Durant.

When KD left, it left the Thunder depleted on the wing more than ever before, especially when it comes to a scoring punch. The addition of Victor Oladipo has helped, but the Thunder could still use some help on the wing.

Gay may be the answer and the Thunder reportedly “remain interested” in working to make a trade for him.

Via Zach Lowe of ESPN:

“They acquired Oladipo with the idea of making him a sixth man — the new Harden — instead of jamming him alongside Westbrook into a starting five with zero proven above-average NBA 3-point shooters. They remain interested in bigger wings, including Rudy Gay, sources say, in part because such a player would slide everyone down to their intended spots: Oladipo to the bench, and Andre Roberson back to defending shooting guards.”

Gay has been open about the fact that he intends to become a free agent next summer. The Kings know they probably won't be keeping him long-term so they'd certainly entertain the notion of shopping him.

The question is what the Thunder can offer Sacramento.

Gay's salary is $13.3 million. Some combination of Alex Abrines, Kyle Singler, Andre Roberson, Anthony Morrow and Cameron Payne might interest the Kings.

There is no evidence that a deal is nearing and it's probably more likely it takes until the trade deadline for Gay to be on the move, whether it's to OKC or elsewhere.
