Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George has put Thunder fans in a rollercoaster of emotions of late. After making a scintillating performance in his playoff debut in OKC colors during last Sunday’s 116-108 Game 1 win over the Utah Jazz, George said that he aggravated a hip injury, causing some degree of doubt on his availability for Game 2.

George told reporters in the postgame presser that he hurt his hip in the game while trying to attack the rim against Jazz center Rudy Gobert in the second quarter. George failed to convert his layup attempt before falling down hard on his left hip. He was visibly unable to get up quickly following his fall, as you can see in the video below.

Also, according to George, it was not the first time he hurt that side of his hip. He originally sustained the injury during a regular season game back in March while trying to secure a rebound in a road matchup with the Atlanta Hawks. Paul George only had 12 points in 26 minutes of action in that game, though, he sat out the entire fourth period.

In Game 1 against the Jazz, George was never really hindered by his hip, as he finished the game with 36 points on 13-for-20 shooting from the field with eight 3-pointers and seven rebounds.

Despite the injury scare, George is expected to play and start Wednesday in Game 2 of the series with the Jazz.
