The Oklahoma City Thunder have had nothing short of struggled out of the gate to this season, dropping 12 out of their first 21 games.

Much of this has centered around the collective play of their three All-Stars — Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and Carmelo Anthony, which have seen plenty of ups and down in the process.

All of this has led one Reddit user (Clippers42017Champs) to precisely break down the issues that the trio has had so far this season.

“First Quarters usually consist of [Russell Westbrook] and [Paul George] tryna get their shots while Melo barely gets any, which contributes to him looking more for his shot, which leads to decreases in shots for everyone on the bench including Patrick Patterson and [Alex] Abrines when he does play. Can any OKC fan add onto this?”

The difficulties that each of these players have had is finding their spots offensively alongside each other. Westbrook has been the primary ball-handler in this entire situation. That puts him in the position of trying to find ways in effectively getting his two new teammates involved without it being a detriment to the team offensively.

At the same, this process has been made difficult due to the fact that both George and Anthony have excelled most in isolation situations that created some sense of lack of ball movement. It has also caused Westbrook to play in a different manner, away from what has helped make him one of the top players in the league.

Ultimately, it's still quite early in the season to where the Thunder have plenty of time to figure it out. If they can find a formula that works best for them, it could make them a serious threat to become contenders in the Western Conference.
