The Orlando Magic are currently one of the worst teams in the NBA. The Magic are the worst team in the Eastern Conference, sporting a dismal 14-35 record. Ever since the team traded Dwight Howard in 2012, the team has become a bottom feeder in the NBA. To make things worse, franchise star Aaron Gordon will miss the Magic's upcoming game against the Lakers due to left hip injury.

Gordon is currently having a breakout season for the Magic. He is averaging 18.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. He is also shooting a career-high 34 percent from the three-point line this season. Even with his production, the Magic's season hasn't really amounted to anything but failure. Gordon was absent in the Magic's loss against the Rockets on Tuesday night. In the game, James Harden scored 60 points to bury the team, which had no answer for him, in spite of absences from Chris Paul and Trevor Ariza. The Magic's leading scorers in that game were both Mario Hezonja and Marreese Speights who scored 17 points a piece. Other than that, the Magic struggled to gain any contributors from their team and play solid defense throughout.

With Gordon missing another game, things are starting to look bleaker for the Magic. Granted, the Lakers are one of the worst teams in the NBA as well. Still, the Lakers are on a roll, winning four of their last five games. Hopefully, Gordon will return soon for the Magic as they badly need his scoring and production. However, with a strained left hip flexor, Gordon won't return to the court immediately by any chance.
