2017 first overall pick Markell Fultz continues to makes waves this offseason. Just recently the Orlando Magic guard announced via Twitter that he will be signing with sports management giant Roc Nation Sports:
Excited to announce that I’m officially joining the @rocnationsports family! Looking forward to this next chapter. ✋🏾🤚🏾 #RocFam

Founded by Grammy-winning rapper Jay-Z six years ago, Roc Nation Sports' clientele continues to grow year after year. Fultz now joins a group of other renowned NBA players, including Kyrie Irving. Kevin Durant used to be with Roc Nation Sports, but he's now represented solely by Rich Kleiman, who helped launch the company.
For his part, the 2019-20 campaign will be an extremely important one for Fultz, as he hopes to finally make his mark in the league. After virtually missing out on his first two years in the NBA due to a mysterious shoulder injury, it appears that Fultz is now looking as healthy as ever entering the new season.
The Magic took quite a risk on Fultz by trading for him last February, sending 6-foot-6 swingman Jonathon Simmons and a couple of draft picks to the Philadelphia 76ers. Orlando appears to have seen something in Fultz, and now is the time for the 21-year-old to prove his worth.
It is also worth noting that there are just two more years remaining Fultz's current rookie deal, with the 2020-21 season being a team option the Magic recently exercised despite his issues. While Orlando is showing faith in Fultz by doing this, this season still could amount to a make-or-break campaign in the NBA.
