In his first season with the Indiana Pacers, Victor Oladipo has taken full advantage of the opportunity with his new team by quickly proven to be one of the league's most improved players.

Oladipo has become a lightning rod for scoring as one of the most productive offensive talents. This has now seen him put himself alone in Pacers' history with his latest 20-point outing against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Victor Oladipo scored a team-high 23 points in the Pacers’ win over the Hawks on Wednesday. That marked the 23rd time Oladipo scored 20 or more points in a game this season. Oladipo had only 18 twenty-point games during the entire 2016-17 season.

No other player in the Pacers’ NBA franchise history ever produced as many 20-point games as Oladipo prior to Christmas Day. The previous high was 22 by Mickey Johnson in 1979-80.

The 25-year-old accomplished a feat that no other player in team history has been able to do on the offensive to start the season, including All-Star forward Paul George in any of his seven seasons with the team. Oladipo has simply flourished with the increased scoring opportunities with the Pacers as their unquestioned top scoring option.

His play has also helped make the players one of the more intriguing teams in the league to watch on a nightly basis. Oladipo has struggled to find his footing in his first four years in the league, however, the Pacers have presented him with a situation where he can make his mark while proving to be one of the NBA's most dynamic young guards.

All of this has certainly made him an early frontrunner to secure the Most Improved award while potentially turning Indiana into one of the biggest surprises in the Eastern Conference that could make some noise come playoff time.
