The Brooklyn Nets significantly improved their title bid following news of former San Antonio Spurs big man LaMarcus Aldridge now heading to Brooklyn. Philadelphia 76ers head coach Doc Rivers was asked to comment about this potentially landscape-altering development, but as it turns out, the Sixers coach did not have too much to say about the matter.
The Sixers have the best record in the Eastern Conference at the moment, and apparently, Doc doesn't feel too threatened by the Nets swooping in on Aldridge (h/t Chris W. Crouse of FourtyEightMinutes):

This is exactly the type of unwavering confidence Sixers fans expect from their head coach. There's no denying that the Nets just further established themselves as title favorites with the Aldridge signing, but for Rivers, it's nothing that he's too concerned about — or at least that's what he's showing us on the surface.
Aldridge may no longer be the perennial All-Star he once was, but there's no denying that he is still an excellent addition for the Nets. Even Doc would have to agree with this notion.
Nevertheless, this does nothing to sway Rivers and his Sixers from their objectives this season. Philly has been playing some excellent basketball for pretty much the entire course of the campaign, and they have no intention of being rattled by external factors. These are the types of things that are out of their control, so indeed, it would be a waste of time for Rivers to pay this too much mind.
