The Philadelphia 76ers host the Brooklyn Nets Wednesday night and will be without starting small forward Jimmy Butler, according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Furkan Korkmaz will start in Butler's place.
Butler suffered a groin strain against the Detroit Pistons on Monday. The four-time All-Star underwent an MRI and the results showed no structural damage.
The Sixers are 10-3 since acquiring Butler from the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 29-year-old swingman is averaging 19.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game with Philadelphia and shooting 48.7 percent from the field, 41.9 percent from beyond the arc and 88.3 percent from the free-throw line.

It's unclear how long Butler will be out, but the Sixers are wise to be cautious with him. Butler has a history of lower-body injuries and hamstring ailments can flare up at any moment. Just ask Houston Rockets All-Star point guard Chris Paul.
The Sixers are 19-9 on the season, which is good for third place in the Eastern Conference. The arrival of Jimmy Butler has propelled the team to new heights. It's safe to say, though, that Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons can carry the load while Butler rehabs his injury.
