The rivalry between emerging centers Joel Embiid and Hassan Whiteside has been well-documented. From the on-court scuffles to trash talk over at social media, it has shown us a glimpse of their competitive spirit. More so, it has given everyone a dose of entertainment.
The latest news about the two did not involve any words or scuffle. It involved a “like,” which may mean nothing at all. Yet given the heated history between the two, the simple “like” is filled with malicious intent.
As reported by James Lumalu of Busted Coverage, Embiid liked a tweet about Whiteside complaining about the few minutes he plays when the opposing team plays small ball.
See below for the tweets that Embiid has liked. Several involve Whiteside:

“It’s annoying. We shouldn’t. Why are we matching up? We’ve got one of the best centers in the league. Why are we matching up?
“A lot of teams don’t have a good center. They are going to use their strengths. It’s bull [expletive]. It’s really bull [expletive], man. There are a lot of teams that can use a center. [Expletive]. That’s one of them. That’s bull [expletive].”
It's a problem that many true centers have today. Embiid, too, can be observed outmatched by much smaller centers. Yet he has an outside shot to boot which somehow evens out the playing field. Whiteside doesn't have that smooth stroke. Embiid may have simply liked the tweet, but we can guarantee that he's laughing behind the screen.
