This is not surprising news, but the Philadelphia 76ers have no intention of pursuing New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Davis requested a trade from the Pelicans on Monday.
While any team in the league would obviously love to add a player of Davis' caliber, some teams just don't have the assets to make such a thing happen, and the 76ers are one of those teams.
Yes, Philadelphia has Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, but it is not likely to want to part with either young player in order to acquire Davis.

Otherwise, the 76ers have Markelle Fultz, but his value is as low as it can possibly be around the league right now due to his shoulder issues and his lack of production when he has actually played.
Of course, Simmons represents a viable option, but it seems highly doubtful that Philly will trade him. You would think the Sixers would want to get a guy like Davis to play with Simmons and Embiid; not as someone who would replace Simmons.
Davis is in his seventh year in New Orleans, and with the Pelicans currently owning a record of 22-28, he has apparently had enough of losing. The 25-year-old has made the playoffs just twice thus far.
