Of the four teams that made it to the conference finals stage of the 2021 NBA Playoffs, the Phoenix Suns and the Atlanta Hawks were two teams thought to be unlikeliest to get this far prior to the season. And after the Suns burned the Los Angeles Clippers Tuesday night on the strength of Deandre Ayton's “Valley Oop,” Phoenix has at least one sportsbook probably wishing against Chris Paul returning at any point going forward in this playoffs.

The Hawks actually owned longer odds to win the 2021 NBA title back in October 2020 as Trae Young's squad had odds of around +15000 to go all the way at the time. The Suns, on the other hand, were given a price of +10000.

But with how things have unfolded in this crazy postseason, the Suns must have attracted a horde of futures bettors, looking to eventually cash in on their wagers down the road. Even though the Hawks pulled off an upset against the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round, the betting public appears to remain highly doubtful of their chances to get past the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference finals.

Right now, the Suns are the favorite to have a downtown parade with the Larry O'Brien Trophy, as they are just two wins away from entering the playoffs, while the Bucks and the Hawks have yet to start their series, as of this writing.
