Damian Lillard has always been known for a guy who plays well in the clutch and when his team needs it most, those opportunities come in the fourth quarter of games.

And according to Reddit.com, since the All-Star Break, Lillard is averaging the most points in the fourth quarter of any player in the NBA.

“Damian Lillard leads the league in 4th quarter scoring since the All-Star break, averaging 9.8 points on 55.9/53.3/86.7 shooting and going 6-0.”

In last night's game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Lillard was the reason they won the game. He put up 38 points including 14 straight points at one point during the game and hitting four straight three-pointers.

The Portland Trail Blazers are climbing up the Western Conference standings, and so is Lillard's play and his MVP consideration.

They are currently sitting in the third spot in the Western Conference and a ton of that has had to do with Lillard's play.

In 57 games this year, he is averaging 26.6 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds per game. He is shooting 44.6 percent from the field, and 37 percent from the field.

For the Trail Blazers and success the rest of the year, Lillard is going to have to continue to be good during crunch time if the team wants to take that next step forward.

One thing we do know about Lillard is that he isn't afraid to take the big shot.

Most remember this big shot he took against the Houston Rockets a few years back that propelled the Trail Blazers to a series win.
