Outside of his impressive skills on the basketball court, Portland Trail Blazers star guard Damian Lillard is also making a name for himself as a rapper and is widely considered as the best one in the NBA today. He has already released two albums and was patronized well by the fans, even reaching the top 100 in the Hip Hop charts.
During the media availability of the All-Stars this past weekend, Lillard was asked by Carlos Boozer who his favorite rappers of today are. He named Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, Drake, Future and Young Thug as some of the artists that inspire him with his music, and also said that he likes them because that is similar to the type of music he makes.

The All-Star interviews allowed members of the media to ask Lillard different questions and not just those that revolve around basketball. A lot of players have other talents and interests outside of the court, and Lillard is one of those who took it to the next level and pursued it by coming up with his own tracks and album.
Lillard has been active in recording songs during the offseason and this coming summer may not be different, especially with the success of his previous albums the past two years. His latest one was an ode to his past and letting everyone know how proud he is of his roots, from where he grew up as a kid, to his college days, until the time he reached the NBA. It will certainly be interesting to find out what he'll sing about next time, which could also be about his experiences in his first six seasons in the league.
