After he was waived by the New York Knicks, Enes Kanter received interest from multiple teams, but the big man decided to sign with the Portland Trail Blazers and it wasn't that hard of a decision for him.
Kanter says his agent, Mark Bartelstein, told him there were a few teams who wanted him. The talented scoring forward chose Portland because of the team's winning culture.
“Yeah, I looked at a few teams,” Kanter told JD Shaw of Hoops Rumors. “My agent told me there were a few [interested] teams, but I thought Portland was the one that made sense the most.
“I think probably their winning culture. Portland was obviously fourth in the West, and this was the team that offered me that contract when I chose to re-sign with Oklahoma City [in 2015]. So when [Blazers president of basketball operations] Neil [Olshey] texted me, I was super-excited, super-emotional, because I feel like I owe him something. The winning culture, the friendship they have, and the fans definitely impacted my free-agent decision.”

In nine games with the Blazers, Kanter is averaging 10.8 points and 7.1 rebounds off the bench. He joined the team following the All-Star break.
The 26-year-old is shooting 52.9 percent from the field and giving the Blazers' bench a big scoring boost.
