The Portland Trail Blazers will be the next team looking to update its logo and uniforms.

Team President Chris McGowan said the team's rebrand is currently being constructed, and will be unveiled this spring.

The leagues uniforms contract will be changed from Adidas to Nike beginning in the 2017-2018 season, so it's safe to assume it will be a Nike brand uniform.

The Blazers logo will not be completely made over, but more modernized according to McGowan.

“I wouldn’t call it drastic. I think we’re blessed with some of the best uniforms in professional sports, our fans really like our identity, people know it whether you live in Portland or not. So I don’t know if drastic is necessarily what we need to do, but I think you always need to modernize.”

The current logo is an updated version of the 1970's pinwheel logo that was changed from its original black and red stripes logo.

Its 10 stripes are symbolic, five lines representing offensive players and five lines representing defensive players.

The chances of the new modern logo resembling the original pinwheel are high since it remains a favorite in Portland, which was present at the time of their only championship.
