When it comes to NBA rappers, Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard is definitely among the best.

The Blazers point guard has become renowned for his skills on the mic, and recently, he released a song called ā€œHome Teamā€ that he says is one of his favorite tracks he has ever made.

On Friday, he dropped the music video for the record:

The new song is centered around everyone who has played an important role in Lillard's life, ranging from family to friends to his agency to even Adidas.

Hence, the name of the track:

ā€œā€˜Home Team’ is one of my favorite songs that I’ve written,ā€ said Lillard, via Casey Holdahl of the Blazers' team website. ā€œIt’s just about my family, just how that’s what I’m most invested in right now. It’s not creating the fortune for myself to have to take care of people, it’s holding my family accountable to figure out what it is they want to do, what type of career they want to have. What they want to do so I can sponsor that and try to help them move into a better direction of what they want to do. So the video is just kind of highlighting that, showing each individual that’s in my circle of friends and family and what they’re doing.ā€

The song and the video are dedicated to Lillard's cousin Brandon Johnson, who also served as Lillard's personal chef before passing away suddenly in May.

Lillard is preparing to retake the court as his Blazers get ready to compete for a playoff spot in the NBA's bubble system. The 2019-20 NBA campaign will resume in Disney World on July 30.
