Coming off a stellar gold medal run with Team USA, Damian Lillard finds himself in a good spot at the moment, and although trade talks surrounding him have cooled off as of late, there' still a chance that he could get moved if the right situation comes into play for him.

With Portland trying to do all they can to please their franchise star and get him the help he needs to lead this team to a long desired championship, their efforts may not be enough to keep Dame Time in town for the long haul. If one thing's certain in this league though, it's that anything is possible. Having said all this, let's take a look at the two best remaining trade options for Damian Lillard, ranked.

Potential Damian Lillard Trades

Philadelphia 76ers

Pairing Damian Lillard with Joel Embiid while being able to move Ben Simmons out of town is a dream scenario for Philly. Especially if they can assemble the right package to make it work, which isn't out of the realm of possibility by any means. They have plenty they can package with Simmons to send over to Portland.

The only issue is whether or not they'll get too greedy and demand too much in the process of acquiring a star in place of Simmons' departure. However, a trade involving Lillard and Simmons is still of high interest, so it all comes down to how badly Lillard wants out and how much the Sixers are asking for in return.

Regardless of how it would pan out, the idea of Damian Lillard playing with Embiid would form the NBA's scariest 1-2 punch and be absolutely mesmerizing to opposing defenses all season long. If Lillard did wind up going to Philly, the Sixers would become the biggest challengers to the Nets and Bucks in the Eastern Conference next season.

Los Angeles Clippers

Now that Kawhi Leonard has officially re-signed with the Clippers, their next plan of action could be to add another All-Star caliber player to play alongside Leonard and Paul George. A big three of Lillard, Leonard, and George would be an overwhelming scoring trio that could win it all in their first season together and get both Lillard and George an NBA title for the first time in their illustrious careers.

Meanwhile Kawhi would win his third title with this third team joining LeBron James as the only other player in NBA history to accomplish this feat. Now this trade would definitely be a long shot for the Clippers to pull off, but they do possess some assets that could be of strong interest to the Trail Blazers.

If there was a way to make this deal work then it would be hard to imagine Damian Lillard turning down an opportunity to pursue multiple titles while finishing out his playing career in LA. With Leonard expected to miss a huge portion of the 2021-22 NBA season, having a duo of Damian Lillard and Paul George to hold down the fort until Kawhi Leonard comes back healthy would be a great luxury for the Clippers to have going into next season.
